SP2 installation error code of 0x80041013 "Unknown error"

Working on an HP Inspiron w/Vista home Premium - currently has SP1, but SP2 failed to install. Since Windows Update would not detect SP2 again, I went to Microsoft.com and downloaded it. When I ran the update, I am getting an error code of 0x80041013 "Unknown error" - anyone else encounter this error?

1.Try install SP2 in safe mode
2.If point 1 fail then try reset WU in aggressive mode How do I reset Windows Update components?

If nothing help:

It would be also issue with WMI or with event viewer or task scheduler

Can you open event viewer?

Start>>Search>>eventvwr.msc

and can you open task scheduler?

Start>>Search>>taskschd.msc

Thanks Flavius - I ended up running chkdsk and then the computer seems to be working properly, with the exception of a few of the servers crashing. I can see the event viewer, and SP2 finally showed up on my last attempt at the Windows Update - and is still loading (1+ hours now).

I'm thinking this thing took a power hit from how its acting.

If there are only system services I could give you fix to registry for them.
