    Error after upgrade vista sp1

    Hii to all. can some one help me pls...
    I have a compaq laptop runing with vista home basic that was recently updated to SP1. After the update, the computer restarted, and during the boot sequence it went to a black screen that scrolled through a bunch of files stopping on "!! 0xc0190036 !! 3911/99879 (MSJET40.dll)". after this not going to anything i kept my pc on for 3hours no change happend. Has anybody ever come across this? Thanks.

    Booting Error after upgrad vista home basic SP1

    Hii to all. can some one help me pls...
    I have a compaq laptop intel core 2 duo with 3 GB ram runing with vista home basic that was recently updated to SP1.with automatic windows update After the update, the computer restarted, and during the boot sequence it went to a black screen that scrolled through a bunch of files stopping on "!! 0xc0190036 !! 3911/99879 (MSJET40.dll)". after this not going to anything i kept my pc on for 3hours no change happend.

    I tried to prompt in safe mode but still it stucks on a perticuler file start from "ch" . can someone put a light on this MSJET40.dll .. is there any way that i can revert my pc back and remove the update ? Has anybody ever come across this? Thanks

    Try this

    Take out the battery,
    Remove main supply,
    Hold power button down for 30 secs,
    Put only power supply in, do not put battery in
    Turn laptop on
    Put the battery in.

    This error many times relate to issue with hdd.I suggest to diagnose hdd by using manufacturer tool.
