Sierra Wireless Watcher conflict with KB 905866

Yesterday I updated KB905866 along with a group of Microsoft Office updates and upon restart, my Sierra Wireless Air Card program crashes. I get a vague "Watcher has stopped working" Windows says that it is collecting information, but can't because there is no internet connection. So far I have:

Uninstalled and reinstalled the air card application
Uninstalled KB905866

I am running an sfc/scannow, although I am not sure how the information will assist me in fixing the problem. Here is the thread from another KB browser issue, dated in 2009:

Hopefully someone can help me fix the problem. Thanks!

Hi,

Have you tried to update the software or drivers for the card?

Look here for your version, update the software & drivers, if there is one available: -

Sierra Wireless - Downloads

Has windows connection manager taken control of your wireless connections?

Post back more details on the card, model, Windows version & update status (Service Pack), current driver etc & I can look for more information that might help. OK?

It's an AT+T USB Lightning, and I downloaded the Watcher application from the Sierra website when I re-installed. I am running Windows Vista Home Premium SP2, I believe. I always update whenever there is one available.
