Trying to keep it clean

I am trying to keep my Vista Ultimate as clean as possible. I reloaded Vista and now I install SP1. Now I want to go straight to SP2, but it will not install. I read that prior to SP2 you need to install KB955430 which I downloaded and did.

I tried again and it still says I am missing a download or service. Does anyone know which KB updates needs to be installed prior to the SP2 update? I found one, what are the other ones?

You should receive all necessary updates required before SP2, you will then get SP2
Just be patient.

Well I installed the KB955430 and the one you added here, still says it requires a service or update. Maybe I'll just install them all

It's been my experience putting on Service Packs that if you can't get it to go in an afternoon, it's not going to be worth it. The more variables in the equation(updates you haven't run for any length of time) the harder it is to fix it if say the SP goes on but the OS then runs like crap.

If it doesn't go in a couple of hours I'd just forget about it. Make an image of the SP1 system at least so you can get back to that state.
