13 new updates for Vista on 8-11

I received 13 "important" updates yesterday. But when opened to view them there were only 11 of them checked. Why were two left unchecked? They were:

#1: Update for Microsoft NET Framework 4 on Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 x86 (KB2468871).

#2. The second one reads exactly the same with the number (KB2533523).

I thought the only updates in my list would be those that applied to my system. But since these two were not checked for installation, perhaps that is wrong. Could someone clarify this for me?

Thank you.

If you have your windows updater set to notify and you install, it is up to you to check what updates you want. They should all apply to your system.

I do have it set to notify me and let me install. And you are right. Normally, it will state that I have X number of important updates and sometimes X optional updates and I have to click into each division and click on the updates I want to install. But this time when I opened Windows Update it already had 11 of the 13 updates checked. This is what threw me off.

I went ahead and installed the 11 which were already checked. After restart I opened Windows Update and it is still showing those two updates and stating that I have two important updates. So I guess I will go ahead and install these last two.

You can get a brief description of each update before you install. Although mistakes can and do happen, I would install if its something that you think will help you.

Thank you.

You were referring to these 2 updates....

If you read the description closely you'll see that they apply to Vista as well.
Just download and install them.

I had those 2 updates too. I installed them.

;) Yes, I noted that they do apply to Vista. I did go ahead and install them, as noted, and everything seems to be fine. Like I said, what threw me is receiving 13 updates and having any of them pre-checked, and then only 11 of the 13, to boot.

As far as reading descriptions, I do this even though in most cases they mean nothing to me. Might as well be trying to transcribe Greek! :)

Thanks to all for taking the time to respond.
