Hello!

Yes, you should download those updates. They are not updates for your copy of Windows, but rather for your copies of the Visual C++ Redistributables. The SP1 refers to these products, and not Windows itself, and for these products, SP1 is the latest service pack.

This is quite difficult to get your head around. Do you sort of understand? Either way, you should install those updates, and do feel free to ask any questions you may have.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I would like to sincerely apologise for any offence caused by my previous post. There are always problems when communicating in the online environment as opposed to face to face, and two of the greatest of these are the interpretations of plain text without the use of facial expressions, body language, and tone of voice to judge the intent behind a comment, and for me to try to judge exactly how competent a user is from just a single post. Offence can be caused by me failing to explain things completely enough, and expecting knowledge, but also by me explaining things too completely.

I can see that for you, I got that estimate wrong, and for that I can do nothing but apologise.

Also, in my haste, I now see that one of my comments could have been misconstrued, but I promise that it was not intended like that. I was only attempting to show that I didn't at all mind re-explaining, or doing whatever was necessary to allow you to understand completely, as opposed to just having a half understanding, and following instructions with only a half understanding.

I hope that you will forgive me for this, and allow us to move onwards. Am I correct in believing that this issue is now resolved?

My sincerest apologies go to you, again.

Yours faithfully,

Niemiro

Hello NBB,

I don't think that there was a problem with Richard's post at all. He was just trying to be helpful, giving a reason for his answer, and asked if you understood or not and had any questions basically.

What's wrong with that????

There may also be other replies, but you will not receive any more notifications until you visit the forum again.

Good day to you,

All I can say is that in my haste I did not phrase my final comment well. I will admit that it was poorly phrased, and that was entirely my fault. However, since this was caused by a genuine mistake on my behalf, and no ill-feeling was ever intended, please may we move onwards, and forgive me my lapse?

I would greatly appreciate that, and I do understand that the mistake was all mine,

Richard
