Hi, my name is Stormy, I'm new to this forum since I really haven't had any issues in the past.



I am running Vista Home Premium 32bit on my desktop. I restarted it a few days ago to install SP1, it rebooted and started installing 3 updates. Once it reached 100% it kicked into System Repair. After running through it, it restarted and did the same thing. Now 3 days later, it's still in that process where it installs updates, goes to system repair, restarts and starts again.

I tried interrupting it and doing a System Restore, but even at the earliest date on it, it goes right back to that repetitive process. Now I can't get to any of my files or anything else on there. I'm stuck, and I need some help please!

No I can't. Tried a lot to get there, the only thing I can go to is the "Repair Your Computer" selection from the F8 screen, and I can access the Command Prompt from there. I've tried doing a System Restore from here, but it doesn't have a date to go back to without throwing me back into the loop.

No, but I can get to it from the Repair Your Computer options. The only issue I don't understand is, comes up listed as
X:\
instead of
C:\
is this an issue?

That worked for the updates, but it still kicks over to startup repair.

I'm trying the other avenues first, as I'm not really sure where the discs are in storage, and I'm not sure when I can find the time to go look for them.
