Welcome
Although a pain, this is an easy one to solve.
View update history to make sure that it has actually been installed. If it has
the next time that you get this update, right click on it and then click on hide. You will not be bothered again. Good luck

Hello Sazquatchwnc,
If that doesn't help, then you might see if resetting Windows Update may.

Hope this helps,

Thank you for the rep. Based upon your comments, I will mark this thread as solved. Thank you for using Vista Forums
All of the above have been tried. I still have the problem. If I hide the update, I get a message that "Windows cannot check for updates". I.m beginning to think that it has something to do with my non-Intel CPU (3.20 gigahertz AMD Phenom II X4 955) since the same problem occurs on another computer, using the same type CPU, running Vista Home 64. I'm running Vista Ultimate 64.
Additional Observation: When I go to "Installed Updates" from the Windows Update window, I am informed that "No updates have been installed". Update History shows quite a few successful updates. ???
