Everytime I try to update windows I get "can't update windows. Error code 80070002". I have searched everywhere and can not find a fix. Can anyone hlp?

Thanks for your reply. I tried doing the things that you mentioned but it didn't work.
Also tried to download and install the system update tool but that will not install. Tried clicking on microsoft fix it tool and that wont install either. So I am back to square one. Any other suggestions?

Try using another account, make another Admin account and see if you can do method 2 . If not, post error message you see , please.

Method 2 did not work "file :KB947821 It was trying to install got about 50% and stayed there for about 45 min. I hit cancel and closed it out. I will try it again to make sure it was not a glitch.

I repaired a neighbors computer and had to install that and it does take a while. So, you need to let it run .

Well I was able to install KB947821. I then rechecked for updates and now have a new code. 80070003. I have tried a couple of things but nothing has changed yet. Will get into it again tomorrow. I also can not open the data store edb file?

After going to the Microsoft update. I have tried to run fix it again and get the message Fix it trouble shooting can't work because an error occurred, no code. Ugh !

Did you notice this on that page : Note This Fix it Solution has two modes Default and Aggressive. You should run the Fix it solution in Default mode and determine if it resolves your problem with Windows Update before running it in Aggressive mode.? Try the aggressive mode this time .
