usb plug-n-play not working after installing service pack 1

Hi, I installed service pack 1 because my new software I installed needed it. However, now the plug and play feature does not work unless I do a reboot. If I plug something into a usb port, I have to reboot the system in order to get it to work. Which is really annoying as I share the printer and a card reader in the same port and sometimes a thumb drive. Is there anything I can do to correct this. I was thinking of installing service pack 2 but afraid to do it.

Thanks,
Chris

If the problem persists, go into device manager and uninstall your usb root hub and usb composite device and so on. Then plug in your usb device again and it will reinstall the drivers.

I dont know why this happens but i have seen it alot and this fixes it everytime.
