Whenever I go on my laptop, and shut it down, there will ALWAYS be an update. Is this a problem? I have to wait for it to finish updating in order to shut down my laptop. It's really pissing me off D:
Is this updating thingy a good or a bad thing?

Its good.
You will get updates until you have all of them. The updates are necessary.
If the system is connected to internet and the automatic updates are turned ON, It will download the update files itself because updates are necessary for the system for Windows integrity. Still, if you feel it is causing problem, you can disable automatic updates from control panel.
