I cant open Windows Update

    I cant open Windows Update

    When i try to open Window update on control panel i can go to system but when i click on windows update tab it doesent open.It open for a half of a second but then closes.I also cant open backup tab.Realy need some help

    If the problem started recently, use system restore to go back to good times.

    In addition, try to follow the steps in the mentioned link to reset windows update and check if it works: Windows Update - Reset - Windows 7 Forums

    Also run SFC scannow and check if it fixes any corruption, use the following link for detailed instructions:

    I use all of your solutions but it dident help Madhur B.I dont think you understood me :
    I go to START-CONTROL PANEL-SYSTEM AND MAINTNEC-(now i cant open windows update tab.when i click on it it doesent open)

    I tryed what you told me but i still cant open windows update tab:
    -Is there any more programs which can update my windows vista?
    -And if you coud recomend me some programs to backup my files ,and make my system image?

    Karens replicator to back up my stuff
    and
    Macrium Reflect to back up the entire Operating System

    So if i use these programs if my computer crashes i will be a ble to reastore it?
    And can i update my windows vista any other way?
