Solved Windows Mail problems when you reply

I have vista home premium 32 bit on my laptop. My email server is WINDOWS Mail and I am having a problem. If someone from my company emails me it comes in fine. When I reply however they receive a mess of data at the top of the reply message which appears to be giving them all kind of information about my laptop and computer info. If I generate a new email to anyone in my company they receive those fine. SO, it appears that replying is the issue.

Any help out there?

Please open an email showing what you mean. Have someone send you back an email with this data included if you don't have an example. Then please take a screenshot (you can erase any personal information like the actual e-mail addresses or names first in Paint before saving as a .jpg file) and attach it to your next reply.

Does this also occur with forwarding? Does it happen when you initiate and send a message normally (not as a reply)?

Thanks!

I have tried a bunch of things and also had our corporate IT dept try to find the cause. Yesterday I searched the [email protected] help section and one article mentioned that sending errors can be caused by your account not being validated in Microsoft Mail. I went through that process and so far I have not heard of the errors happening again. Hopefully that fixed the problem. Strange however since I have been using the Windows Mail program for a couple of years an the problem just popped up about two months ago.

Thanks,
Tom..

I happy to hear the problem seems to be resolved, though I'm as puzzled as you are about why that suddenly became necessary and how it fixed the problem. But if it worked, it worked. So let's keep our fingers crossed and hope it was a permanent solution (even if we don't understand the reason). It may have been caused by a Windows Update a couple of months ago (who knows which one at this point) or perhaps by some file corruption which was repaired when you re-validated. Chances are we'll never know why. Let's settle for it now working properly.

Don't forget to close out the thread by clicking the far right triangular icon at the top of your post and typing "solved" in the box and submitting it. The moderators will notice and put a green check next to the thread title. That way others seeking answers by searching the forums will know that this thread contains a solution to the issue identified in the title - and people seeking to help will not waste time checking out this thread since it has been resolved.

And welcome to Vista Forums! Now that you know where we are, bookmark the site and post anytime you have further questions or problems or if you just want to browse and learn (especially the Tutorial section offers some excellent advice on a wide variety of topics) or even if you want to try to help answer a question if you happen to see one where you know the answer and it hasn't already been posted. While it most likely won't be me the next time (though it might), there are many very skilled, experienced, knowledgeable, and friendly people here who, like me, volunteer their time to help others and one or maybe even several will respond to your post to assist you. While there are other forums on the web that do this sort of thing, you've now found what I think is the best (and I've posted in and/or checked out quite a few) so don't lose this link - you never know when it might come in handy again.

Good luck and best wishes.

Yes, Debbie plans on being on vacation from November 18th through December
3rd for her Germany trip. She has not taken any of her 10 days of vacation
this year. I ask Meghan a couple of weeks ago if she had used any vacation
time while she was out the first six weeks of this year and she told me that
she had not used vacation during that time.
