Some webpages really slow to load. Pls help

Hi,
I am running widows vista. With internet explorer, google chrome and firefox (all updated) certain webpages are taking forever to load. I have problems with hotmail and facebook and many others. They do load but are not loading properly. In hotmail and facebook I end up with a white screen with blue writing on it.
Other websites like google run fine. I have done an internet speed check and am getting 11mbps.
Other computers on my home network and my iphone on the home network work perfectly.


I have run avast, ad aware, spy bot and ccleaner but none of these have helped.

From reading other forums I have also updated my flash player (adobe) and java. I have also cleared the java temp files.

Any help of suggestions would be much appreciated.

I have tried safe mode and it is still the same problem. I think it might be only sites that run javascript because normal html websites seem to be ok.

I downloaded hijackthis and ran it. Does this help at all?

Try removing the addons from the browser as I stated in my post.
Then you can read this article and perhaps get some ideas

Thanks for your help rich. Yes I have tried running all of my browsers without add ons and in safe mode. I have reset ie and it didn't help either.
I think it may be something to do with javascript or a firewall blocking it. It is only javascript pages that don't load properly. Standard html pages load fine.

Turn off firewall to test. When done be sure to turn back on.
go directly to a known safe site.
Even better turn it off and use the windows firewall to see how it works. That is the one lthat I use and have no problems.
Test and restore the firewall immediately. Surfing without the firewall is not safe,if you decide that option.
That being said, you may be correct it might be the firewall.

I now tried disabling ad aware, avast, spy bot and windows firewall. Nothing improved. I tried it with just windows firewall - no improvement
I tried it with just one of all of them - no combination worked.
Any ideas?

Go to search and type device manager. Look for yellow warning markers. If none, make sure that graphics and sound drivers are up to date.

For a test try with Chrome as the Browser.
