Email toolbar keeps disappearing

On my mom's computer, in windows mail, her toolbar (create mail, reply, reply all, etc...) keeps disappearing. I know how to go to view, layout and check toolbar it to get it back, but it disappears all the time, and she is elderly and can't always remember how to get it back. Can anyone explain why this keeps happening?

Thanks, Alan. I appreciate your response. The tutorial link shows how to Customize the Quick Access Toolbar for Windows Live Mail, and she is using Windows Mail. I don't find how to do this in Windows Mail. I can go to View, Layout, and select the Toolbar to get it back each time, but I just can't figure out why it keeps disappearing, after I do that. On every restart, it's gone again. Thanks!
