Mousekeys causes explorer bug

I'm sorry if I am posting in the wrong place for this, but I have encountered this problem for quite some time now, and have been uanble to find an answer for it on google, or by other search methods.

Basically the problem is that when I have mouse keys enabled and am using them after awhile of using them, my explorer process becomes all bugged, and all the windows start to become all meshed together ones behind other ones will appear partly infront of each other, and the task bar at the bottom of the screen becomes extremely bugged.

I usually fix this by opening task manager, and ending the explorer.exe process then starting the task over again. But it becomes annoying when I have to do it over and over again.

I am running windows vista home premium 32bit.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hello and welcome to the forum.

First I would recommend that you run a full AV...
Download and run a full scan from malwarebytes...

Also I would do a sfc scan this is how...
Click on the start button...
Click all programs...
Click accessories...
Right click on the command prompt and then click run as administrator...
when the command box comes up the type this...
sfc /scannow note there is a space between the sfc and the forward slash...
Let the sfc run and don't click and buttons as it works a lot better when you don't use your system if it finds errors then run it 3 times.

Thanks guys I run full AV scans regularly, and malwarebytes scan about once a mouth. It hasn't resolved the solution or improved. But I will try this SFC scan, and see if it works. Thanks.

I have experienced this bug, on both XP and Vista.

In particular, it comes about if I use the keypad (with Num lock off to activate mouse keys), to click the mouse. pressing 5 has the same effect as a left mouse click, except that you can't click and drag.

If I do this a few times, there is no issue, but if I use it several dozen times, or more, the taskbar first starts to act weird (the clock on the taskbar stops). Then the tasks on the taskbar will jumble, or fade. I can still select them, and the buttons are in the same place, but they are hidden by whatever jumbled graphics lies in front. The desktop, and windows management goes bezerk at its worst.

Restarting explorer.exe fixes it. Every time.

Has anybody got any suggestions for dealing with it, besides restarting explorer.exe?
When you are coordinating many different directories, and have many explorer windows open, its a hassle to have to reopen all of these.

Yea none of the above solutions, seemed to work it still happens. And its pretty much how Geoscientist explained. So its an explorer problem, I had it happen to me about twice with out using mouse keys, but it happens mostly when using them.

I've tried to find a solution on google, but I've had no luck at all.
