Computer goes in coma

My computer goes into coma and does not want to wake up after it goes to sleep or hibernation. When i click "enter" key or move the cursor, the power switch goes from yellow to green on case and also the numlock light goes green on keyboard but the monitor does not come on. Also i do not see the CPU light blink at all. I tried to tap on power switch on case but no response.

The problem started on 28May when installed the "windows updates". I tried to system resotre prior to this point but it runs into error and does not go back to pre-updates.

I think there is something simple "key stroke" to wake the system up. Hope someone can help.

Thanks

Ramehs

Hi,
I followed the link and in step 2 "Check Advanced Power Plan settings" I followed the steps down to step 7 where we are supposed to change the sleep options to allow "hybrid sleep." My computer did not have that option. Under the main setting of "sleep" the only subsetting available was "Hibernate after..." I figure that this hybrid sleep option is a very important thing to change so I figure this step won't work for me. Are there any suggestions or should I just move on to Step 3 "Check Sleep Settings in BIOS"??

Pete

just a thought, when i tested it last night i just went into the start menu to tell the computer to sleep. In Step 2 the advice is to make sure the hard disk shuts down before the computer sleeps (at least one minute before). When i tell it to sleep manually will the hard disk have time to shut down before sleep or should I have tested it by just waiting for it to sleep naturally?

I tried power management settings and still no luck.

Last night i changed settings to:
display off in 5 minutes,
sleep - never and
hibernate - off

and it worked.

This morning i changed the sleep setting to 30 minutes and it will not wake up. The power switch on case and numlock light on keyboard went green but screen would not come alive. Also the cpu light stayed off.

I have decided not to put it to sleep until i figure something out.
