Problems with shortcut targets /Doom3 editting

I always love to join a forum and start by asking for help.
So I will continue with that trend.

I just built a new system and decided to go with Vista. A few things are frustrating but overall it seems decent, my new system is really fast and haven't ran into any major issues yet.

However I am having issues with shortcuts that I really need to figure out.

My quick launch shortcut for Doom 3 has this for a target:
"E:\Games\Doom 3\Doom3.exe"

That works fine to start Doom3, but I also want a shortcut to start a mod I am involved with, mainly for play testing purposes, and also to skip loading Doom3 to load the mod.

With XP my target was changed to this:
"E:\Games\Doom 3\Doom3.exe +set r_fullscreen 1 +set com_allowConsole 1 +set fs_game modname"

That would allow me to run full screen, let the console drop down and load up the resources for the mod directly.

The problem is when I add that info to the shorcut in Vista I get a pop-up telling me it is an invalid location and will only let me cancel/close the shortcut properties.

EDIT
OK, sorry for the dumb Q, it was pointed out to me that

"E:\Games\Doom 3\Doom3.exe +set r_fullscreen 1 +set com_allowConsole 1 +set fs_game modname"

is wrong but:

"E:\Games\Doom 3\Doom3.exe" +set r_fullscreen 1 +set com_allowConsole 1 +set fs_game modname

is correct. I don't believe XP used quotes, so when I set up in Vista and saw the quotes I just assumed that everything went inside them.
Is there a way to fix this?
