HELP:Tom Clancy's HAWX!!

Hey All,
i was wondering if anyone else has the same problem with HAWX: which is that the aircraft doesn't stop spinning, i am unable to control the plane.
I use a PlayStation 2 USB joystick which has been configured and synced with the PC, so that the every button/joystick works.
I am 100% sure that there is not a problem with the joystick, as i use it for other games such as Microsoft Flight Sim X and Test drive unlimited. The analogue sticks and buttons work fine.

i have tried both changing the control setting to keyboard but, once again the problem is still there, the plane doesn't stop spinning out of control... :sa:

##Is it my controls? My general setting are on default so everything original...

i have played around with the setting invert/normal... still the same result

Please help :(

Thank You, looks forward to your replies

It is a UBI product after all so you shouldn't be expecting to be a finished product, less so if this is a bad console port.

Anyways, have you tried uninstalling or unplugging the ps2 controller and playing it with just the KB & mouse? for testing purposes of course. If not, try it, if yes, unplug it again, uninstall the game completely and install it again, this time, use "Run as Administrator" before installing.

Good Luck

Hey, thank for the reply...
Having tried your method, it was unsuccesful :( i took out the controller plug, set the control for keyboard and mouse, but the plane kept on spinning out of control.
i unistalled and reinstalled, still i got the same problem.

The controller or the plug for the controller is not fault in anyway as i tested it by playing various simulators and shooter... seemed to work fine there.

i ask my bro to install on his laptop, worked fine, but he used a Xbox controller, the plane didnt spin out of control.

What could be the problem?

That is weird to say the least, I tried the Demo and didn't have a problem with KB & Mouse but I uninstalled it inmediately as I don't do well with flight Sims.

When you installed the PS2 controller, did it install any drivers for it? if so, try uninstalling those as well, reboot and try again. also, you may try going to the ingame options and choose default for every setting just to test if the plane doesn't spin on its own.

Again, Ubisoft has a way of churning out tons of games and the majority of them unfinished. Being said that, it appears that the game just doesn't like that controller.

Perhaps going to the dedicated Ubi forum for Hawx can shed a better light on the subject. don't expect any answers from the UBI Tech dept, admins or mods there but the members may land a good hand.

Hope you solve your problem

It may be that the game itself does not like that controller, regardless of whether it works in other games or not.

That maybe the case, that the game doesnt like the controller, but why does the plane still keeps spinning, when i select keyboard and mouse?

The keyboard and mouse are is the slandered Dell ones (multimedia keyboard and laser mouse).

I got my brother to try it with his Xbox controller and without the controller, using keyboard and mouse and seems fine, he uses a Dell Studio Laptop.

None of my buttons are stuck into the keyboard or the controller.

Some mystery :S

Is the plane spinning with the controller plugged in when using the keyboard/mouse? It sounds like a conflict with the controller. Even though no buttons are being pressed, the game would still be detecting a controller.

Does the plane still spin with the controller unplugged before you start HAWX?

Yep, unplugged the controller, set everything back to default including all option apart from the graphic options.
So that the keys and the mouse are default, still the plane continues to spin out of control

Perhaps try re-installing the game or try deleting the config files if you can because it sounds like the control has been corrupted.

I don't exactly know where they are but try looking in:

C:\Users\*yourname*\Saved Games
C:\Users\*yourname*\Documents\
C:\Users\*yourname*\Documents\My Games

or the games installation folder. It's probably a .cfg or .ini file.
