PS3 Controller and Vista x64

I want to be able to play N64 games better so I want to use a PS3 controller, with Windows Vista 64-bit.

I don't know how to do this, though, I've seen tutorials that apparantly work for 32-bit but not for 64-bit, which is a shame, because I don't want to use an Xbox controller unless I can't use a PS3 one at all.

You see, I'm getting rid of 360 soon so I won't have a controller to use, and I don't think it's worth buying another one.

Help?
