I cannot shrink my C drive more than 3 GB. I have turned off system restore and paging file,How can delete shadow copy file? I have even defragmented thrice.when I insert the CD of ubuntu In the drive partition it hangs after completing 46%.H0W can I solve HEEELPP....

I could not schrink my C-drive to the amount I wanted.
I runned Perfectdisk 8.0 and requested consolidation of free space.
Still didn't work.
Perfectdisk 8.0 showed that my pagefile (9GB) and sleepfile (another 9) were sitting in the way (I have an 8gig mem system).
I had on the disk sequentially: data/free space/page file/free space/ sleep file/free space.

Turn the page file of.
Deleted the sleep file (as I don't use the sleep function; with 8 GB mem it is way too slow)

Defragmented again.

Now I could create a 60G new primary partition.

Re-enabled the page file.
PS: Found on the net that a 1gig page file for a 4 to 8GB system is more then enough. So I configured that.

Hope this helps
Alfred
