Anybody know how/where to uninstall Microsoft Diagnostic TOOL (MSDT). Got on their site last night as they offer free help on SP1 and inadvertently clicked yes when I meant to click no when asked if I wanted to download the tool; comes with ActiveX too. Now, I can't find any uninstaller for it, anywhere.

Well, no, not really because I can't find it, just a few files sharing the MSDT nomenclature and I hate to just go in there and delete when I'm not really sure what I'm deleting.

If I remember correctly, my MSDT did not "appear" on my hard drive until i clicked the report I had the MS tech leave on my desktop. When I clicked it, the MSDT cabinet file was visible on my hard drive. It won't open unless you allow the active X to open. I kept it because when I learn more, I plan on playing with it and seeing what I can break with it lol.

Hello hdbg62,

If that is the same that they left on mine.....
an Icon on the desktop?
I could unzip and open the file to my desktop.
I don't think it is "installed" I think it is just a file you can delete.
One way to find out !!!
Or you can wait for a reply from one of the people around here
that know what they're doing.
I just deleted mine (the Icon - File) after I played with it a while.

There's no icon on the desktop, it just installed itself when I mistakenly clicked "yes"; however there are some MSDT files in the system now but I hate to just delete when I really don't understand what these files might be connected to. Any way to find/delete the activeX? Is MSDT a security risk?

Sorry hdbg62,

I did not understand that they were "into" your system.
I've reached the limit of my experience with this and I would
hesitate to advise you further as I have no knowledge of this!
Maybe someone with more insight can assist you.
