I somehow lost the association for windows to automatically launch gif, jpeg and other image fomats to go to the vista default image viewer.

Where is the location of that very default vista image viewer?

What's its name too??

Its located at: "%ProgramFiles%\Windows Photo Gallery\WindowsPhotoGallery.exe"

If you click on the vista start orb then type photo into the search bar, you'll see an app called Windows Photo Gallery. That is the default picture viewer.

double click the unassociated files and choose to 'manually select program'.

Press on the big 'arrow' at the right side of screen to display more programs.

vista image viewer should be in the list of standard programs you can select to launch the file with.

Don't forget to check 'always use this program with this filetype'.

I don't know exactly where the actual viewer is located but this 'should' fix your problem I hope,

Good luck!

EDIT: stew2 knows ^^

I ndecided to look in control panel and selected program defaults and made sure all of those file types go to phto gallery and it worked that way, but thanks for helping me out.
