64 bit wont read 4 gigs of memory out of 12

I am running vista 64 bit with 12 gigs-intel i7 cpu 965, and it is only showing 8gb in system props but when I do a cpuid test it shows all 12...i have tried flashing bios and just about everything to get it to show without luck. I was hoping someone had something similar and could share the fix.:confused:

You should check this POST Seems that board has issues addressing over 8 gigs of memory

There are things you can do though.

1. Go into the bios and make sure memory remapping is enabled
2. Test your memory for errors by going to the vista start orb and in the search bar type MdSched and hit enter then restart now option
3. Update bios
4. Make sure the memory is seated properly in the slots

How many slots are you having? what is the combination of ram? We need more information :confused:

Hey there ty for ur replies...there are six slots..combo is..ELPIDA 2GB DDR3 PC3-8500 U-DIMM 1067MHZ . I really appreciate your help..:)

I tired all of the steps and none of them worked...the only one I couldnt try was the remapping bc my bios didnt have that option. I'm so lost at this point..and frustrated!

OK, switch of your pc and remove all the ram then put one stick in and boot. Check it shows all the ram in system properties then switch of your pc and install another stick of ram and boot then check your system properties and so on till you have all the ram installed.

If at some point it stops showing the ram youv installed switch of the pc and move the last ram stick you installed to the first slot and remove all the rest then boot your pc and check the system properties and run a mem test on that stick.
