Problem with Backup to DVD and USB

I have previously mentioned problem with Backup of photos to USB, and now suspect I'm using the wrong type of pendrive. It's a FujiFilm Flashdrive. Is this why the resulting backedup files are arranged so unhelpfully in arbitary unchangeable folders each holding about 200 MB of pictures? -and every daily backup is a separate new folder. I want the new modifications to register IN the folders.

Thanks, whs, but in the end I solved the problem by getting a portable external harddrive, which perfectly replicates and updates my photo folders.I was hoping to achieve this in a less expensive way, (with USB or DVD) but it was a vain hope. I'm very content with this solution, which I understand is also more 'permanent' and secure.

Good deal. Portable external drives are useful for all kinds of purposes. I currently own 8 of them ranging from 60GB to 640GB. The main use is for system imaging. But I also use them for storing videos and for moving data around between 2 locations. For safety reasons I backup stuff on 2 different drives.
