Hello bgammon,
Try going to Device Manager and un-installing the device, reboot and let Vista re-install, and see what happens.
Good luck and post your results.

It's possible the actual drive is broken and will need to be replaced. Can you put a CD or DVD into the drive at all or does it not open or are you able to put one in the drive but nothing happens or what ?

I am having a problem with my TSST corp CD/DVDW TS-L632D AtA device which is showing a yellow triangle in device manager.

I tried uninstall and reboot without success.

I took the advice by Tanuj in another part of the forum
You can download the drivers for your drive from here:

Drivers and Downloads

OR

Download & run merge the following file to the registry. Make sure that you save the file on the desktop & then merge it.

After clicking on "download now" I was asked to "allow" then nothing happened.

I then downloaded the "cdgone" file to my desktop and merged. It indicated that it was successful but when I looked at device manager the same thing happened (yellow triangle)

Cant use Windows disc as suggested by Tanuj because laptops seldom com with discs these days anly CAB files

Could you help please?
