    Windows Vista Crashed

I have windows vista and was using my laptop when all of a sudden the computer froze and I was unable to recover anything after attempting to reboot. After unplugging the power cord and removing the battery, I pressed the start button but only get a system recovery options screen.

The system is stuck in something that states Administrator x: windows.systems32. I cannot do anything else. Any suggestions or advice would help tremendously.

If system recovery gives the option of a system restore use it.

I tried that and got the following response.."To perform an offline System Restore, you must specify which Windows installation you would like to restore.

For example, if the installation located in "C:\Windows" should be restored. enter the following command:

    rstrui.exe /OFFLINE:C:\Windows

I tried that at the Command prompt, and all I get is the Administrator x:\windows\systems32.

I also see something that states Operating System: Unknown on (Unknown) Local Disk

What options are on the Recovery Options screen?

Are you using a different computer to post?

Do you have a Vista install disk?
