Solved Is it possible to create a youtube shortcut for my desktop?

Firstly i apologize in case im posting in/on the wrong topic thread, im a newbie and idiot combined, forgive me. My questions is simply:- is it possible to create a youtube icon for my desktop and how?X

Hello again Sir. Thank you for your prompt reply. I just tried the steps from the link you passed but, my shortcut option does nothing at all when i click on it. I've left and right clicked, prayed and finally shouted at it to do something. It has selective hearing methinks, for its doing nothing at all. Im unable to create a/the shortcut.

I get an error message.....page could not be saved. I cant get my shortcut wizard to open either.....now, im worried a bit. I dont know what to do now Richard, after all it was "only" a YT shortcut i wanted, i can certainly live without that, but, perhaps i may just have a little underlying problem that i know nothing about and, certainly not in a position to fix, if faulty alone....eeek....erm..X

Sorry if i'm not getting these threads right, i seem to be getting lost in the site, not at all sure where i am at points. I believe that Pacinility sent me a post, i saw that through my Hotmail, but not in the forum.
I get rather nervous too, but would love some help and assistance whence possible, i dont even know if im the cause of my problem or its an underlying thing. The variious methods that I suggested are known to work. Are you using Vista updated to SP2?

Hate to add more confusing, but have you tried just right-clicking on your desktop. Select "New" than "Shortcut". It'll open a setup box, and in it just type "www.youtube.com"?

Hello Patonb and richard. I have tried all the options mentioned, still no luck. This problem occurs when ever I right click on my desktop to create a new shortcut by Right Click, New >> Shortcut
But after select shortcut nothing happens except for the mouse pointer changing to an hour-glass or a waiting circle for sometime. I really am trying my best here, though get worried to really pursue it, being a bit intimidated by the pc at times (lots of times). I know a shortcuts not THAT important, however i now worry if i have a problem aboard and dont quite know how to pursue that. Sorry if none of that makes sense, im a pc-idiot, guilty. X

Thank you Sincerely Richard. It must be me doing something wrong. Boy, i wish i had your skills, must be wonderful to have that knowledge, and even greater to take the time to share it. I have Team viewer aboard, if ever your bored, perhaps you might like to take a look at me, though considering our distance i dont know if anything could work successfully.
Anyhow, all this for a shortcut's not worth it, you have more important things to do, i shall let it be. I just pray i'm not suffering from anything bad, things seem fine, i keep updated on all my protections, try to safely surf. Please keep up the good work. Thanks again.X

Go to the internet page or site and right click it the click create shortcut, then close and it should be on your desktop.

Hello americancritic. We have met before i believe, earlier when i first joined the forum. Thank you too for any input. Sadly these options simply are not working for me, i know not why. The ones Richard gave me, i've tried numerous times, to no avail.
As it was merely a Youtube shortcut i was after, and having failed to get one, being to frightened to delve deeper, i'm probably better giving up lest i do harm to my pc. I just dont know why my create shortcut tabs refusing to work at all. But, hey you guys are very busy, let me not waste your valuable time helping others. I shall remain non-pc-savvy, and just watch the fixers/helpers in awe. Thank you anyway Sir for your time and help thus far. X

P.s...i have Team viewer aboard if anyone nice would like to give it a go. Please be gentle with me though.

Knowing computers yourself have you done the simple things like run a full up dated virus scan...

have you run a full scan using malwarebytes...

Have you reset your browser to see if it will help.

Yes Sir, i have done all of those things...full MBAM scan logs came back clean as does my Avira scans. I'd get rather scared to delve deeper as far as web page browser settings etc, but, i try to keep things ship-shape as so far as my limited knowledge goes. I use Winpatrol, Sandboxie, COMODO, WOT, along with keyscrambler.
Please do not try to help me where others require your help more. I love you guys and your site already, your assistance has blown me away,even without a solution. I wish i could mail you all a Bud, have one on me!! X

Oh, balls...sorry american critic...i use Firefox as my main browser, Explorer when i HAVE to.....apologies for forgetting that.X
