Well I don't know what mine is now but I know it's fast since I've gone onto BT Total Broadband with the new HomeHub.

I can't do the test yet as I'm in my 10 day adjusting period so wont get a true reading yet.

I will say though that I'm certainly noticing a big difference to what it was before and so far I'm very happy. ;)

I use SpeedTest when I want to feel good. Trouble is the test doesn't last long enough to overcome the surge that some ISPs give when you first put demand on the system. SpeedTest usually shows about 3 times the bandwidth I can actually use for sustained downloads. It's a fairer indication to post the numbers from something like Newsbin after it's been downloading for a minute or so. I guess the upload from SpeedTest is pretty reliable. I haven't noticed any upload surge. :)

I did a couple ... just to get a fair estimate. Obviously reduced when crossing the big puddles! And I'm only supposed to have the 8mb service .. but I'm not saying anything! :D

Went to DSLreports.com and from their tests it looks like my modem is generating packet loss, so will try another and see if that improves speeds. I'm on exetel 8192/384 plan $85 month

Just wanted to share some news I got from SingTel today
There will be some works next week in my condo "...to prepare for the future upgrade to higher transmission using optical fibre cable...which is capable of delivery ultra high speeds of up to 1Gbps and beyond"

I'm currently with StarHub as a provider, but will not be waiting too long, I guess, to switch ISP;)
