Whats the Best Antivirus/ Security Suite??

Wow man.I would just use a antivirus rather than pay.Plus what do you do with all those windows security alerts.

Anyways,I recommend avast antivirus and spyware doctor starter edition for anti-spyware.Thats if you want a free one.

If I was looking for a free AV, then I would use MSE and MalwareBytes.

If I was looking for a paid AV, then I would realise the errors in my ways and use MSE and MalwareBytes.

Good advise Tom, unless one is very knowledgeable with reference to the in and outs of the computer world you need protection. I just helped a person over the phone who had a virus lockup her computer because she had no protection. She had a HP with Vista and the OS had a recovery partation so I help her put her computer back to factory. Now all them updates. I use AVG Internet Security myself and it does the job.

Whats top this week might not be next. Poeple just find one they like and tend to stick with it.
I did have MSE and after I uninstalled it Security Center failed to start.
I returned to NOD32 with Malwarebytes and SuperAntispyware as stand alone scanners.
Windows Firewall will only block incoming by default but you can change that if you want.

Just personal opinion of course. I vote for Avast. I have also got superantispyware and Malwarebytes. I recently changed to Comodo firewall which seems fine and I seem to boot up quicker. They are all free for personal use and I have had no trouble with Viruses Trojans Hackers etc. I also use Windows Defender from the Microsoft site. It is safe to use two anti-spy products but never use more than one A/V as it can cause conflicts. You should run A/V and anti spy weekly.

Microsoft Security Essentials and Windows Firewall, is simply the best, better than all the rest.

I tried Panda Cloud and its simple and CPU friendly. But when there's a false positive "virus", it removes without asking you anything, which is sometimes not a good thing.

It wont remove. It will neutralize it. You can always restore the file if its a false positive.
