Hello. My windows explorer is constantly freezing! It wont let me change the volume or battery settings. I go to change the volume and it doesnt go up, so then I click on the taskbar and it shows the hour glass and then a message pops up saying "Windows Explorer is not responding" and this happens to me all the time. Any suggestions?

					Hi Shortmantuff,

You might see if runnning a
sfc /scannow command can find and fix any bad system files that may be responsible.

If that does not help, then you might do a
System Restore using a restore point dated before you had the problem.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

It says "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them." Now I was reading further in the forum and you say that I need to do a repair install. How would I do this? And to backup my files would I just run Backup Status and Configuration?

					You would just do a
System Restore using a restore point dated before you had the problem. It will restore your system back to the date of the restore point you select and hopefully fix your problem.

The restore points will only go back up to 90 days before, so you will just need to use your best guess on a date before the problem. If the system restore does not help or makes things worse, then this will show you how to undo the last system restore return the computer back to before you did that last restore.
