I was running a wireless network card on my computer (PCI Netgear). All was well. I removed that card and switched to my motherboard's on-board Gigabyte-equipped Ethernet port.
Now my Internet Explorer 32 bit does not work, but the 64 bit version works fine. This has also caused Outlook Ultimate to quit working as well as MSN messenger. I am also getting a "Watson Client" error message and my Trillian does not work either.
I am trying an "upgrade" install of Vista over top of my current install to see if something in Vista got corrupted. Yes, I un-installed SP1 first. Before I did that, I also made sure I had the latest drivers for my Reatek ethernet port. Tried safe mode - no luck there. Bypassed my router straight to the cable modem - no luck there either, so it is not my router.
Any ideas? HAs anyone seen this before?
Setup:
Gigabyle GA-P35-DQ6 motherboard (V1.1)
Intel Core2 Quad Q6600 CPU
GeForce 8800GT videocard (512)
4 GB RAM (GSkill)
