I ran Malwarebytes Anti-Malware yesterday morning and now, I cannot connect to the internet. The connection gets stuck on "Identifying Network." I have reset the router and disconnected and reconnected to the internet. I have turned my wifi connection on and off. I have reset the winsock and Int IP. I did a system restore back to several days ago before I had this problem. Nothing worked. I am really worried that something is seriously wrong with part of my Operating System. Please Help!!!!!

Where did you get Malware Bytes from? Like all anti-malware programs, you should only get them from trusted sources, in this case Malwarebytes : Free anti-malware, anti-virus and spyware removal download

I'm not sure where I got the version of Malwarebytes that I am using. I have used it before though and it has always worked fine, so I don't think it is the software. I think it was a "side-effect" so to speak, of the virus itself (if there is such a thing)

The sfc scan is finished. It says it "found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them"

Dont you have an anti virus? Malwarebytes is for other Malware. Software like Security Essentials is for virus.

I don't have any antivirus software on my computer. It all expired and I never renewed it (dumb I know, but that's the situation I have now)

Hello, tossing this in for you, Alot of times the virus/malware will change some settings, for the Internet, if you look in Control Panel, and open up Internet Options and open the Connections tab, on that page at Lan setting you should have check mark in Automatic detect settings and no check mark in Use proxy server. I have seen virues change those settings and thus keeps you from making internet connection. Just a thought as you fight this battle .

Not good. That makes me believe that your problem may be caused by a virus. There is no way to check for that without an antivirus.
It would be hard for you to get one without internet capabilites.
Maybe you can try to use another computer download Microsoft Security Essentials to an external hard drive or USB and then see if you can transfer it.

If checking Lan settings does not work , nor are you able to use another computer to get a program, you could always use Windows built in program , hopefully you have been getting your updates. Called MRT, to use it, go to Start button, in all programs , accessories, Right click Run and then type mrt in the box , then press okay , It is a long scan , but as last resort , it could be attempted.
