if you have the driver on a CD that came with the drive, you could try uninstalling it, and then reinstalling it from the CD. if you dont have the CD, check with the manufacturer to see if you can download it from their website
if you can, then follow the steps below.
go to start menu, in the search box at the bottom, type "device manager" and click enter
then click "DVD/CD - ROM drives" in the list, and then right click the the drive you are having a problem with. then click uninstall and follow the steps to finish it.
then restart you computer.....
then reinstall from the CD/Internet, and see if this solves your problem.
if it doesnt, it may be the case that the drivers you are being supplied are not compatable with your system.
you may also want to try installing them by running the installation with administrator privillages (right click and then click "run as administrator"
