All the games that i dled so far ending with the .exe extension seem to freeze up completely until i have to end task it. I tried the file on my other laptop it ran absolutely smooth. Any sort of help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Jasoche,

How long ago did this start happening and do the .exe`s you are trying to open have a small Shield logo on their icon like this one?

Thanks for the quick reply, it just happened recently, or just that i started downloading recently. And yes the icon itself has a little shield below it.

Right click the file and hit properties. In the window you'll see at the bottom to unlock or allow (I don't remember the exact word), just hit it and you'll be able to use the file properly.

I tried what you asked for, but same problem came up after a while loading. I had to end task it, and it say internet explorer have some sort of problem. Once i hit okay flashed the screen desktop icons gone for 3 secs. Or just simply explorer stopped responding and resets.

And also whenever i forced closing it, my HD space reduced until i reboot my computer. The type of file :Application (.exe) Description Setup.exe
below where the properties for the file only has 2 tab to check. They are
Read-only / Hidden.

This is the button I ment in the properties window:

The display of the "security warning" may cause a huge delay opening a file and hangs the Explorer. By hitting that button, you solve this issue. At this point though, the file itself is not executed.

If what hangs on you is the program itself, then the problem is of another matter. Make sure the installer is not infected nor fake. Also, make sure the program is compatible with the OS.

Another thing that may help with never-starting Setups, is to clear the content of the TEMP folders.
