Hey Folks.

A little history behind how I got this error... here's how it started: http://www.vistax64.com/general-discussion/235132-driver_irql_not_less_or_equal-0x000000d1.html

I used to get a blue screen every now and then... memory dump... and now the comp will freeze and go into a blue screen and restart.

Luckly I had my camera beside me when the blue screen was on... I took a pic so here it is.

that is pointing to e100b325.sys which is an intel network adapter driver (which pops up alot in minidump files

try updating your motherboard drivers , specifically your network driver (intel)

update all your drivers while your at it it could be an older driver crashing the Intel driver

I have the exact same blue screen but with a twist.
Mine also says "memory dump failed with status 0xc0000010" thus i cannot post the memory.dmp file...its never created.

I'm using Vista Ultimate HTPC only as Media center...The blue screen comes only after the pc resumes from S3 hibernation. The machine works flawlessly as a media center, with no other software installed and SP1 only, but just the third or fourth time that the sleep-resume cycle phase happens i get the blue screen. I Then reboot and i get again three or four times of good sleep-resume until the blue screens appears again. I have no other problems or hiccups with the machine. Its a Acer Aspire iDea 510 with 2GB installed.

I'm desperate for any help that anyone could provide.

Thank you.

Great

There are some issues with sleep/hibernation and some hardware. especially with 64bit.

Can you check c:\windows\minidump to see if there are any dump files (*.dmp) and if so zip them and upload them to us

thanks

Ken

did you get this from the dump file i posted above ? does it contain inside logs from recent blue screens or it has only the ones from 18/5/09 ?

The reason i ask this is because yes i know about the iastor problem, i had several hangs (not blue screens) at the beginning of the installation (which was indeed on May).
I knew about this article and i don't have any of these settings on the bios, no RAID. I just downloaded the newest v8 intel storage drivers and that problem completely go away.
Also the machine is not a DELL so i don't know if that drivers apply

To add to this, the only thing that actually make a difference was this: Windows Vista: Solution to “System shut down unexpectedly” when resuming from Hibernate | Techies Realm
but like many other users reported, the problem indeed was solved but after a couple of months it started again like nothing has changed.

Had the same crash occur. Minidump attached. Happened when I left it on overnight with nothing running. Also woke up to it completely frozen after leaving it installing an application overnight and in the same situation while attempting to defrag overnight. Computer has been very hangy lately during what had previously been normal use and in extreme cases totally freezes forcing a hard reboot.

Tried Memtest and Chkdisk. Both found nothing. AVG Virus scan showed nil. Also tried to roll back the computer to a state before I noticed this occurring. Maybe didn't roll back far enough? Doesn't matter though because now all restore points appear to be missing.

Physical Memory usage is sitting at 1.3 gigs of ram with essentially nothing running and often at .9 gigs immediately after boot which I _think_ is weird.

Tech support suggested I restore factory settings though I hesitate to do that without a second opinion as it is a total pain. Any other diagnosis ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a ton! =)

My Computer

i cannot find anything for this...its one of those mysteries of Vista that you just wish never happens to you...

I don't know what else to do than just leave with it...maybe schedule a daily reboot

My Computer

Sorry for ressurecting this post, but it's exactly on topic for the problem I'm having.

I've attempted to run chkdsk /r to correct any errors, but it hangs during step 4 of 5 at 43% and file 170011 (of approximately 250000). I've let it sit there, and after about 15 minutes the HDD light goes out and after an hour I force the machine off.

I've attached the latest minidump .zip file. Can someone help me diagnose what's happening here? It started happening a little over a week ago during scheduled Ghost backups, and is getting worse.

::: edited to add ::: And one more BSOD crash. I took a picture of the BSOD screen, and have attached the second minidump .zip file. HELP!
