Help installing itunes on Vista

I'm running 32 bit Vista and I can't install iTunes. I've done the whole VBscript thing, bu I"m still getting the Microsoft Windows error message that "iTunes installer has stopped working" and no other details. Any ideas on why I'm getting this? Thanks!

What version of iTunes, I thought these issues were resolved around the 7.3.x releases? If you are installing an older version that came with your iPod might be a good time to download the latest.

I second bob's recommendation. I'm running iTunes on my 32-bit Home Premium laptop and have no problems whatsoever (even with my iPhone).

Make sure you have the latest.

It's the latest one on the itunes website... 7.4.2, i believe. I'm also having this issue w/ other programs but those are likely because the programs are made for xp. however, it appears that everyone else has been able to install itunes... except me! Any other thoughts?

What anti-virus/security software are you running? Might be interfering.

I'm sorry, I really have nothing useful to offer at this point. Out of curiosity, what is the "VBScript thing" that you did on your first attempt?

On the iTunes website, it said that part of the reason for not being able to install iTunes is b/c vista doesn't register the vbscript.dll file... so i did the whole registering it thing.
