Hi, I'm new to the forum but I thought I'd get my problem out here to see if someone can help me. I have a brand new Dell Inspiron desktop with Vista x32 and Logitech QuickCam Fusion Webcam. I have set up the camera and downloaded the latest version of WLM. I can see myself and record a video and I have sound and vision upon playback. I have done the same with my partners XP PC and all is working fine. Problem is when we have video call we can see each other but we have no sound. I have tried all the basics and I have noticed that quite alot of people have described the same problem using Vista and WLM. But, I have not been able to find the solution?- Please can anyone help me out with this one? Thx.

Dell Inspiron (Especially the 1500 series) laptops have a sound driver issue with the MS update site.

Go to the Dell support website and download the latest soundcard drivers for your laptop and then run the installation.

More info: If you had old Dell drivers, Windows update wants to install their driver, which fubars the mic. If you had the new Dell drivers, Windows update won't try to replace them.

Note: Some folks have had to uninstall their sound drivers first, but I've generally found that to be unnecessary.
