Audio Crackling

To start off just let me say, IM GOING CRAZY

Now let me start from the beginning. For the past 5 years I have been using the same 80G HD without problems, but lately it has just been getting full and staying full so i purchased a new Samsung 320G drive. Since i only have 1 sata cable i took my old drive out (didnt format it) then put the new one in and installed windows vista 32 bit. (same as old drive) Got it running and started installing drivers including sound card and video card. After finishing this I transferred files off my my external drive over to this new drive then once finished started playing a video game (world of warcraft) and noticed stuttering in audio and visual. I spent several hours trying to fix this and came to the conclusion it had to be the HDD since my old one this problem wasnt accuring.

So I took this drive out, put my old one back in and of course no problems. No audio or video issues so i figured id just reformat and just start from scatch with the old drive. So once finished i went through my norm and started installing drivers... then boom its doing it again. so now its not a HDD issue and I once again have the new Samsung drive in.

Through trial and error I have come to the conclusion that the issue does not begin until I install my graphics drivers. Geforce 9800 GT. I have tried the newest and oldest drivers to no prevail, but again I had these drivers working on the old HDD before reformatting that drive.

At this point I have installed all drivers and have done almost all windows updates as well. I am just at a lose. I have been searching google for the past 2 days, almost all day long, posting on forums and getting basicly zero reponses. I NEED HELP!

This happens with sound card installed (audigy 2 zs) or even if its not installedd and i run my sound through my usb fatality headset which of course has its own sound drivers. So at this point everthing is up to date as far as drivers go, but once i go into device manager and disable my graphics display drivers the problem disappears. How could this be fine before a reformat and doing this after?

Hello Stylez21,
I would start by going over, and checking, what you did when you replaced the HDD's, check all cabling, both power and data, not just to the HDD, but check all MB connections too.
Try a new Sata data lead.
Did you partition the new HDD before installing the OS ?.
Are you using the MB drivers that came with it, or are you Downloading new ones from the makers site ?.
Can you list some system specs too, thanks.
Let us know, good luck.
