Special Note: Avira doesn’t have a removal tool but they do provide a registry cleaner to remove traces of Avira so that you can reinstall and then uninstall. This tool is in German, you’ll have to click on the button called “Keys auslesen” to search the registry for any issues. Then place checkmarks next to the registry entries you wish to delete and click the “Löschen” button to delete the keys.

I see there's a problem with some pics there...

Uninstalling an antivirus or any other program should always be done through add/remove programs or by using a free third party uninstaller like Revo Uninstaller http://www.revouninstaller.com/ .
Only use the below methods if the add/remove programs method fails.

Tip: Don't remove your antivirus until you have a new one. Install your new one first then uninstall your old one.


And also, theres another one that removes rouge antivirus: malwarebytes.

This thread is rather old, but I think you'll find that most wont install if another is already there.

Yes very true some or most have to be removed out of the registry before installing another AV. So the the next does not see that there is another already installed.
