Will you be going out to dinner or seeing a movie? Socking away a bit of coin for a rainy day or for a vacation? Buying software or… not? After all, why buy when you can pirate everything most of today’s popular titles for the low, low cost of free? Well, we’ll tell you. Before you decide to go torrent an application or game you’ve been keen on, consider our 10 practical arguments against piracy, and always try to remember — you get what you pay for.

Can't say that i've been totally innocent since I got my first computer, but the last time I got pirated software was roughly 8 years ago.

The biggest reason that I stopped is exactly that...you get what you pay for. And I can imagine nowadays the nasty crap that can be packed in with whatever you are trying to get.

Software piracy is why I decided to not become a programmer and go into tech support. Pay is less, but hard to become financially ruined.

I don't see the point in pirating software to be honest, unless you just refuse to pay for something that someone has spent hours of their time doing and not getting paid for it, i'd be beaming if someone turned around and said "no, you're not getting paid for the hours you worked, because people would rather see you broke".
Frustrates me when I get customers who clearly have downloaded illegal software and expect it to be perfect (many a windows installation saying not genuine software), I simply say, my fees are £25 labour and £100 parts, they pay and come home to genuine software and moan about not getting anything upgraded, funny stuff if you ever saw me do that :D
