Administrator question

Ok, so we all know we can activate this 'hidden' admin user, but my question is can I make current users the same level of Administrator?

Its just I let my brother use the guest account while I went away for the summer and he wasnt satisfied and decided to activate this 'super' admin user which has caused all kinds of problems and is just generally very irritating. Not to mention the fact that my greedy brother now has more power on my own computer. So really Id like to be this admin but I dont fancy moving all my stuff over, resetting all my preferences, re-installing programs for use on that user, saving bookmarks, setting up everything arrrgghhh.

Any help?

first of all, read the forum rules and edit your post. some younger members (like me) shouldn't be reading inappropriate language like yours.
not sure how to take a shortcut to moving all the files to the super account, but you can deactivate it by typing this into an elevated command prompt net user administrator /active:no.
i will try to think of how to delete it permanently later
i know that you will not have the super privileges, but you will have higher powers over other users.

Hello, and welcome to Vista Forums.

In addition, the problem is that a administrator account will always have fill access to everything on the computer, and will be able to re-enable the built-in Administrator account even if you disable it. The only way that they can't, is if you have the only administrator account and change their account type to be standard accounts instead. I would not recommend that you do this unless you are the owner of the computer though. Otherwise it just may cause trouble to you from the owner instead.

The only real noticable difference between a normal and the built-in administrator accounts is UAC. You can elevate your account to be just like the built-in one almost so that it is not bothered by UAC as well, but with UAC still turned on.

Hope this helps,
Shawn
