I have had some application burp's in the last week and one was adobe I have looked in the event viewer and I am seeing application hangs. I am running as you know .
windows vista home premium 64 bit sp2,
8 gigs of ram,
640 hard drive
Lightscribe
media drive

Can someone give me some idea's on what to do or where to find some info so I can start findong out why. Thank you all in advance and your help. I do know that I have also had some programs saying this program is not responding.

I have run a full AV.
I have run Malwarbytes and both have come back just fine.
I am still not sure why the hang but they are some what annoying.

Hi Tom,

Which Adobe - Flash, Reader,...? Complete system hang or just application hang? Does it try to open the program (do you see the Adobe program or logo) or does nothing happen at all? Can you post the EV details? Hang no matter how opened or only when done through browser or what? What programs are saying they're having problems with it? Did you have an earlier version installed before that worked fine or is this the first time you've downloaded it? Did the problem start immediately or was it working fine for a while and then began having troubles? What other programs (full names and versions) are you having trouble with and did this just start or has it been going on for a while? What have you changed (hardware or software) since the trouble started?

BTW, I can't open or read your .doc file (I get a strange error message - "there was a problem sending the command to the program") and I don't have that problem with any other .doc files or attachments (though I don't get many .doc attachments here), so there's something wrong with the attachment or the file itself - I don't think it's a problem with my computer or Word 2007 (I checked a few other .docs which worked fine though I couldn't find a .doc attachment in the forum from someone else to test that). I'm not sure it's even a .doc file. I hope the problems aren't related.

Hello Buddy I will get into the events viewer and pull the hangs, it just started about a week and a half ago for no reason, I ws trying to open a a file that was a pdf I think I am not a 100% sure but in the upper left hand corner it would say programs has stopped working, but I will pull all files and then send them to you. AND THANK YOU.

Hello!

Is this AppHang_B1? You should see that code somewhere if this is the case. This means that a program has stopped responding, usually with an unresponsive UI (which Vista whites out) and then the user clicks Close Program rather than Wait. This is what the B1 code actually means, and apart from a complete system deadlock which I shall not go into :) - quite complicated! - is what I would define as a hang. In this situation, the program will recover in less than 10 seconds in about 96% of cases in my experience. Just let it hang whited out for a bit, without Closing the Program - click on Wait for the Program to Respond.

The B1 code will be returned from the post-mortem debugger, Problem Reports and Solutions in V7 and Dr Watson in XP and below. NOTE! Dr Watson will not return a B1!
