Asking for Help on "Personal Safe"

I am a newbie to Vista and have some computer experience. I have Windows Vista Home Premium. Service Pack 2. 32-bit Operating System. Laptop model: JHL90 (Micro Express Computers)

My problem: I have an icon on my Desktop called "Personal Safe" to unlock it I use my fingerprint. Recently after creating an .xlsx (Excel) document that was saved to my desktop I went to move it to my "Personal Safe" folder which was already unlocked.

It was taking a long time to move over so I clicked cancel. That then was also taking a long time so I pulled up the Task Manager to cancel it. I later shutdown.

I logged in today and the "Personal Safe" icon is showing that it is unlocked; however, when I click on the icon to open it - it will not open. When I right click on it, the options are: Open, Explore, Unlock, Create Shortcut and Rename. When I select "Unlock" the mouse icon just sits there.

When I go into Explorer and double click on the folder, the file icon appears as "Content Locked". When I right click on it, the only option is "Unlock" and again the mouse icon just sits there.

Can someone tell me what to do to unlock this folder?

It may be that the program is running but you can't see it. It has happened to me before.

Go to: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/79612-startup-programs-enable-disable.html
Make sure that the program is not set to run on start up.
Next, do a restart and make sure that you dont do anything but log in. Let your computer fully load (depending on your start-up speed, it could be 1-5 minutes)
Next, try and open/unlock the "safe"

It was working in the background apparently because now I can see all of the files. I see I will have to learn patience with Vista. I didn't know why my fan was constantly running.

I will check the Startup in the future when the fan is running constantly also.
