Battery Issues

Hi, Just today I was trying to install a copy of Windows 7 that was sent to me in the mail. I had got all the way to the actual installation process before I got a message that said:

"Please plug in the AC... blah blah will not work without an external power source plugged in."

The thing is, the AC is plugged in, it is charging, yet... the power light is not on and apparently is not being registered.

I'm not sure if it is a Bios problem as the Windows 7 did do something with a Bios installation. I have tried a system restore and nothing worked.

Running on: Vista Home Premium 64bit, Pavilion dv6 1230us

Thanks for your time :D.

Have you tried running an installation without the battery plugged in?
See what happens and post back.
