Your are trying to install with all 4 sticks of RAM ?
Install only with 2 ,i thinm it should run fine then.
Once Vista is installed , apply the Patch available (from microsoft for 4GB Systems) and then put the other two sticks in.
This should work unless there are some other issues.

Let us know.

alright ill try that. Man the memory for this rig has been a real pain. First it gets hung up on the memory test when booting it with no OS, and after swapping it with my teacher's sons ram(2gig sticks of the same manufacturer) it ran fine, my ram was ok on his board. and when we swapped back it started up fine with no isssues. very wierd

ill post back around 4pm est thats when class starts
