BOOTMGR is missing

I recently got a copy of Windows 7 Ultimate, and decided to install it on a second partition on my hard drive, which i did. It lasted for two weeks, until i attempted to boot up one day and the message, BOOTMGR is missing, appeared on the screen.
How do i solve this problem, preferably without losing data.
Thanks

Please note:
I am running Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit
I cannot access the BIOS menu as the options do not appear
I do not have a Vista CD to boot from as Vista came pre-installed
Due to me being incapable of accessing the BIOS, i cannot change boot settings, and so i am stuck booting from the hard drive
The laptop is a "AMILO Notebook pa 3553"

Any help will be appreciated!

Hello Connor,

Welcome to Vista Forums.

I take it you cannot boot into either OS, is that correct? Most come with a factory restore option (see your users manual). This will however format the C drive. Without either disk and no recovery disk I don't know of any other way. Maybe someone else has an idea.

So it doesn't give you any options like Press "your particular key" to enter BIOS?

Is the BIOS screen hidden by a 'splash screen' ?

What method did you use to install Seven?

Try pressing F12 at first screen, may allow you to change boot option.

I installed Windows 7 Ultimate by using a bootable CD that had an .ISO image burned onto it. It was installed correctly and then activated. Everthing worked up until now.

Neither OS's work, no option appears to boot into either one. While before the option appeared to boot into Vista or 7

The options to enter the BIOS menu, eg F12, F10, F2, are no longer there, it is as if they have been removed from the boot screen or completely covered up.

I will see if i can aquire a Vista recovery or install disk, but until then any more suggestions shall again be appreciated.

Will it boot from the Windows 7 DVD? If so, see if it can repair the bootmgr. Sounds like a bigger problem to me though because of the bios thing.

This was just a small thought i had, probably won't work but here it is. Because it is stuck booting from the hard drive, if i was to remove the hard drive would it then boot into the next option, which is the CD/DVD drive. So from then on i would stick the installation disk in and repair.
Would this work, or is it just stupid thoughts?
