Cannot receive e-mail through windows mail

Please Advise:

I have been unable to receive e-mail routed through a pop3 server from my Charter.net e-mail account for the past 2 days..... i have read through several threads on here without any result to fix this problem.


I have checked and rechecked my pop.charter.net and smtp.charter.net to be sure they were put in correctly---i've fiddled with checking and unchecking the secure connection boxes...

Does anyone know what my problem could be and how to fix it???

As an added note---i am able to connect to the internet however the error message i get when i try to check e-mail from windows mail is: cannot connect to mail server.

Hi Emz72780,

Welcome to the forum.

It appears that you used the wrong server names for Charter. Double check your E-mail account settings again.

NOTE: Windows Mail uses the same account settings as Outlook Express.

SMTP (Outgoing) server = mail.charter.net
POP3 (Incoming) server = mail.charter.net
