Cant Login When get to User select screen

Hey sorry if i posted this in the wrong section but this one looked like the right one. Recently i had a trojan that totaly screwed up my computer, it would play sound clips at random moments and everytime i googled something it would take me to phishing sites. So i downloaded trojan remover and ran that, it got rid of something for me but it stopped, and asked me what to do to userinit.exe. It said that file is suspecous, so i choose it recommended advice and just renamed it. The trojan didnt go away so i ran it again in safe mode, and this time with trojan remover i clicked delete. I then realized it was a system32 file, and now i cant log in, it takes me to the user select screen, i pick any user and then he screen goes black and a window pops up saying an unathorized change has been made to windows, learn more online or close. So now i dont know what to do.

P.S. Now it doesnt let me go to safe mode, i dont have that option anymore


What i tried so far:

• Put in vista cd, boot from optical drive, and tried to run system restore and i keep on getting catastrphical error
• tried scanning the file in the command prompt

Now im downloading ubuntu and gonna boot from that disk, and while im in ubuntu im gonna try to copy the userinit.exe file from my fash he hard drive. Thats my last attempt.


So basicly i am asking how to resolve my issue with the not being allowed to log in. I really would not like to reinstall vista but it looks like a possibility now.

Well since i didn't get any replies i've decided to reinstall windows. My last attempt was using unubuntu trying to cope a friends userinit.exe file into my system32 file. But no such luck. I'am starting to think that the problem was not with userinit.exe W/e just wanted to let you guys know.
