Solved Can't open folders.

I'm using vista home premium on a Toshiba Satellite M305.

I can't open any folders. Double clicking or right clicking and clicking open won't work. Nothing happens when I try. Folders will only open if I right click and click "explore". Then, that folder and all the folders I tried to open before open. Once I have folders open, I can open folders normally by double clicking. But once I close those folders, I have to open folders by right clicking "explore".

How can I get folders to open just by double clicking it?

Welcome, If this just started, a quick system restore should make it good again, but first.

If the change is recent, make a virus scan and download and scan with malwarebytes.

Go to control panel folder options and check all settings.

Thank you! I fixed it by unchecking "launch folder windows in a separate process."

Good Paul, glad that the problem is solved. It was simple as checking the settings, somehow they were changed. That happens sometimes. Glad that I made the suggestion and it worked.
